Fiddle In the Bag Community Campaign

Save 'The Fiddle i'th Bag'

This site is solely dedicated to supporting the preservation and restoration of the Fiddle in th'Bag as a cummunity asset

We are a group of determined, like-minded people representing the village of Burtonwood, which forms part of the larger town of Warrington, in North-west England.

We have a hugely popular pub, The Fiddle in th’Bag, which closed it’s doors at the beginning of 2019. The building is the final one of four original place markers laid down in the village and civil parish of Burtonwood and Westbrook in the 1840’s.The pub also has links with the former Burtonwood Airbase and was a familiar go to destination with airmen and their families.

The Fiddle was twice due to open and has since been put on the market.

We are ideally seeking to acquire the site and operate the Fiddle once more as a true community centre for locals to meet up and relax throughout the year. We wish to retain it’s unique character which has been attracting visitor from worldwide due it’s singular appeal.

With a growing number of community volunteers we hope to return the Fiddle to the community and restore it to it’s former glory.
